BEP Book Club
The BEP book club meets regularly to discuss various types of publications that relate to architecture. All meetings of the BEP book club are open to everyone independently from their profession or affiliation. Please see our calendar for information on meeting dates.
Networking Events
All members of the architectural community are invited to meet, find new connections, and build relationships with other professionals during our after-work events.
ARE Review Series and Study Group
In order to address the challenges of the Architect Registration Examination (ARE), BEP has developed an ARE review series to assist intern architects in becoming registered architects. In organized study groups, intern architects can share information and find support to prepare for each division of the ARE. Please see our calendar for review program details and let us know if you are interested in participating in study groups.
Lecture Travel Group
Please contact us if you are interested in attending lectures focusing on architecture beyond Buffalo. The travel group will also attend events held by other emerging professionals organizations.
Design Charrette Series
In 2008, BEP started an advanced dialogue and collaboration within the architectural community and the exploration of individual creativity through its charrette series. Half-day charrettes offer design challenges to be explored in an on-site group setting. Please contact us if you are interested in participating in this program.
Annual Design Competition
BEP will hold an annual competition to offer the opportunity for designers from all regions to present their ideas and designs in relationship to the WNY architectural community. This year we present "There's No Place Like Home... 2009 McKinley House Competition" for the design of the McKinley High School house to be integrated into the Fall 2009 school curriculum. The competition is held in collaboration with the Construction Exchange and the School of Architecture and Planning, University at Buffalo, State University of New York.
Annual Exhibition of Work
Work from the annual design competition and charrette series will be exhibited at a year end exhibition open to the public. This will give emerging professionals of Western New York a local platform to present their ingenuity and talent to a broader audience.
Publication of Work
Work from the annual design competition and charettes featured at the year end exhibition will be collected and presented in an annual publication.
