BAF’s 6Mbs is an informal and fun gathering featuring presentations by esteemed speakers from diverse cultural disciplines. Speakers present their building story through a short presentation with a 6 minute time limit.
Featured Speakers
Ellen Mika Zelasko: Ellen writes a blog called Hello Buffalo. She is Buffalo born and bred with a passion for its story and respect for its place in history. She’s an energetic and engaging communicator adept at translating facts and statistics into entertaining and memorable stories. Ellen believes that every home, every building, every neighborhood has a story to tell, and she’d like to tell it.
Jesse Walp: Jesse is a sculptor who lives in Buffalo, New York. He teaches Fine Art and Interior Design at Villa Maria College where he also supervises their Art Shop. His sculpture includes both objects and large-scale public art. He lives in the city with his wife and their two kids.
Rebecca Reilly: Rebecca is a co-founder and partner at Buffalo’s “Queen City Bike Couriers.” Most recently before joining Queen City, she was the Director of Operations at the regional bike advocacy, GObike Buffalo. In the nineties she was a bike messenger in ten cities across the United States and Canada, has competed and won world titles at five messenger world championships and co-founded the Washington DC and New York City Bicycle Messenger Associations. She also helped organize three messenger world championships in San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia. In 2000 she authored the book, “Nerves of Steel: Bicycle Messengers in the United States.”
