Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the photograph "The Blue Marble", the 2022 edition of the NYCAB will examine how architecture, design and urbanism activate structural transformation in a globalized world.

The 2022 NYCAB will propel discussions about unusual and unexpected collaborations in architecture and urbanism and new approaches to build the city. 2020 marked a critical year in which environmental, health, economic, and social crises had become correlated and interconnected, bringing forth - once again - the necessity of unforeseen global issues to be addressed with urgency. It has become clear that an integrative knowledge must inform collaborations in response to the complexities of fast changing scenarios generated by technological advances and innovation. With an increasing consciousness of the finite nature of our resources an ethical professional awareness is inevitable.
