Table Talks: Fill the Void

  • University at Buffalo, South Campus 403 Hayes Hall Buffalo, NY 14214 Uninted States (map)

This is a two-part, in-person, free course for architects in Buffalo and Western New York. No registration is required. 2 HSW Learning Units are pending.

During part one, participants will have an opportunity to mingle, network, and converse with local architecture, engineering, and fabrication firms, construction companies, A & E support service providers, architecture students, and professional organizations. They are encouraged to discuss ongoing work and projects as well as opportunities for employment and partnerships.

During part two, participants will attend a panel discussion led by Michael Tunkey of CannonDesign with Denise Juron-Borgese of Ciminelli Real Estate Corporation and Stuart Green of Braymiller Market on the new 201 Ellicott mixed-use development project. Participants will learn about the design process of working within the Buffalo Green Code and navigating multiple community stakeholders to create affordable housing and a fresh food market in Buffalo’s Central Business District. Participants will also learn about the project’s guiding concepts: affordability, mobility, health & wellness, and vibrancy.

The purpose of this event is to foster relationships within the A&E community between students, architects, developers, consultants, and industry leaders working locally in the profession. Our goal is to give all attendees a better idea of what opportunities are available to them here in Western New York, and to build up our city and our workforce.
